Voyager 1 had completed its primary mission, and was leaving the Solar System when, at the request of Carl Sagan, it was commanded by NASA to turn its camera around, and take one last photo of Earth across a great expanse of space.
The earth is shown from a distance of about 6 billion km (3.7 billion miles).
The attached video’s accompanying words spoken by Sagan, and written almost 25 years ago, are still relevant today
Sensitively felt, ... brilliantly spoken.
CLIMATE change
caused by HUMANS
The extent of the human contribution to modern global warming is a hotly debated topic in political circles, particularly in the US.
In its 2013 fifth assessment report, the IPCC stated in its summary for policymakers that it is “extremely likely that more than half of the observed increase in global average surface temperature” from 1951 to 2010 was caused by human activity.
By “extremely likely”, it meant that there was between a 95% and 100% probability that more than half of modern warming was due to humans.
