EDMONTON — The organizers of the Edmonton Pride Festival have cancelled this year's event, citing "current political and social environment." 

The festival was scheduled for June 7, with the Pride parade taking place the following day.

A 6,000-word letter, published Thursday by a Catholic outlet and the Italian newspaper Corriere della Serra, laments the secularization of the West, decries the 1960s sexual revolution, and describes seminaries that became filled during that period with “homosexual cliques.”
